UK Certificate of Entitlement (CoE)
-
Your baby will receive a Colombian passport, but as Colombian passport holders currently need a visa for temporary visits to the UK, a Certificate of Entitlement (CoE) Right to Abode can be added to the passport. This CoE grants the baby the "right of abode," allowing them to enter and remain in the UK without a visa, ensuring they cannot be deported. The CoE is granted within a 3-week timeframe; a much faster process then applying for a British Passport.
-
Your baby is eligible for a Certificate of Entitlement (CoE) to the Right of Abode if at least one of the parents is a British citizen or has settled status in the UK.
-
To obtain a Certificate of Entitlement (CoE) to the Right of Abode, you must apply through the UK GOV website and prove proof of the baby’s eligibility.
SOL Surrogacy can walk you through the end-to-end process; can provide relevant required templates and support the official translation process.
