Building better surrogacy journeys

We started SOL to share what we learned. Now we’re building tools that make surrogacy clearer for parents — and easier to run for the teams who support them.

From sharing to building

The same problems, every journey

After two journeys in Colombia, and countless conversations with other intended parents, we kept hearing the same things. Nobody had set the process out in order. Updates arrived in a mix of messaging apps, emails and spreadsheets. Parents chased for news; agencies explained the same steps again and again; the UK legal process felt like a maze at the very moment families had a newborn to care for.

None of that is anyone’s fault — surrogacy is long, cross-border and genuinely complex. But it can be much better organised. So alongside sharing our experience, we’ve started building tools with one goal: better experiences for intended parents and surrogates, and better-run journeys for the agencies that support them.

1

Clarity for parents

Every step set out in order, in plain language, so families always know what comes next and why.

2

One shared picture

Standardised, consistent communication, so parents, surrogates and the teams supporting them are working from the same timeline.

3

Respect for surrogates

Tools that give surrogates their own clear view of the journey and treat their information with care.

4

Built by people who’ve been there

We designed these tools around the moments that were hardest for us — the waiting, the paperwork, the chasing.

PO Navigatorby SOL Surrogacy

For UK intended parents

UK Parental Order processwithout the legal bills.

After an international surrogacy, the UK Parental Order is what makes you both your child’s legal parents — and it must be applied for within six months of the birth. PO Navigator guides parents through it step by step: the C51, C52 and A101A forms explained field by field, the deadline tracked with reminders, and a court-ready bundle assembled as you go.

  • C51 · C52 · A101A
  • 6-month deadline
  • Court bundle
  • Free to explore — journey map, form overviews and timeline
  • In-depth guides on every stage of the court process, and country guides
  • Guidance from parents who did it twice — not legal advice

Purpose-built for surrogacy agencies

Elevate every surrogacy journey to world class.

A surrogacy journey can take around two years, and it’s often still tracked in spreadsheets and messaging apps. Carme is a relationship management system purpose-built for surrogacy agencies: every journey on one shared timeline, a clear view of which family needs attention next, and portals that give intended parents and surrogates their own view of their journey.

  • A twelve-phase journey from enquiry to handover, renameable to fit each agency
  • Documents, appointments and communication in one place
  • Built for domestic and cross-border agencies, across languages and time zones

What stays the same

Our free calls remain free, independent and based on our own experience. We don’t arrange surrogacy, match families or recommend agencies, and using any of our tools is never a condition of talking to us.
